Products I love: the Arctic Circle Edition

We all know cold weather is absolute murder on our skin, and it's not going away any time soon (at least in Chicago it's not). So I figured I'd take a few moments to mention some of my favorite skin saving products/practices with you, because you know, I'm good like that.

1.Johnson's Baby Oil: Lotion/Smotion...when I get out of the shower I rub some Johnson's baby oil into my skin and let it air dry. The results, quite frankly, are awesome. Try it yourself. I use the lavender infused stuff. It smells lovely and gives you the added calming effects of lavender. The bonus is that a bottle of it lasts forever, and it's not expensive at all. **Just make sure to step OUT of the shower/tub before applying the oil, otherwise, you're in for a treat the next time you step in, and...a possible trip to the ER.

2.A Humidifier: I was a little late to the party on picking up a humidifier this year. My apartment is a vintage city apartment. Vintage city apartments = radiator heat. Radiator heat = sore throats, bloody noses & dry skin unless you pump moisture into it. A humidifier is simply the most important thing you can do for your skin in this weather.

3.Satin Hands by Mary Kay: I love this shit! Everyone knows you can tell how old someone is by looking at their hands, so keep yours looking their best with this 3 step product. There really are no words to describe my love for this stuff. Just buy some. You won't be disappointed. I mean, have I ever steered you wrong?

4.L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream: This product continuously wins Allure Magazine's best hand cream, and once you use it, it's pretty obvious why. Like my girl, Tina, would say it's simply the best. Your hands feel like a baby's ass for hours after you use it. **It's a figure of speech. I don't spend a lot of time feeling babies' asses, so I can't really say.

5.Philosophy "Hope in a Jar" moisturizer: This is my daily moisturizer. I was devastated when Este Lauder discontinued their Time Zone moisturizer that I had used for...well, since high school. I tried pretty much everything out there to find something I loved as much, and I found it.

Well...there you are. Go forth and purchase. Oh yeah, and drink lots of water too.
