Fall Nails...and a tip for babes on a budget! - Wednesday, September 20, 2006

OK. Unless y'all have been hiding under a rock for the past couple of months, you know the fall look for nails is short and dark....the darker the better. If you're brave, match your lips to your nails for an instantly put together, chic look. The Essie Fall '06 collection has some yummy dark shades. (Side note: Essie is my very favorite brand of nail polish. It chips the least, lasts forever and they make great colors). My personal favorite from that collection is "Clutch me if you Can". Hawt!

And here's a tip...

Holy shit!

Yes, you're reading that right. Chanel Black Satin is "THE" polish for fall. It's sold out everywhere and unless you want to pay $129 + shipping for a bottle of fucking nail polish, you're shit outta luck. However...

OPI's "Lincoln Park After Dark" looks suspiciously like Chanel Black Satin on. I'm currently wearing it, and if I had a nickel for everyone who's asked me if I'm wearing Chanel Black Satin...well, I'd have a dime. But the point is...bitches are noticing. And at only $7 a bottle!

Hi! I just wanted to say I love your site! I'm a chicagoan also, and agree with you on so many things . DOWN WITH MACYS! I feel cool because I'm already on top of your fall must do/haves. Haha. Anyways, I'm interested in getting that Opi nail polish, but it looks like too purple to me? The black satin doesnt look like it could compare. But I'll take your word for it.
I also ADORE ADORE ADORE that audrey hepburn commercial!

Dear Trixie-
Not only do you have GREAT advice on diets (30 pounds lost and counting), Clothes (Still not sure of the skinny jeans, but I will try), and Hair products (The Chi is the best), you are a nail polish guru too! I went to the salon today to get a pedi, and I couldn't find my usual color. Well luckily I read your site almost everyday, and I caught your nail polish advice! I tried it and the color looks great. The Lincoln Park After Dark really does look like the Black Satin! Love you!
