How my holidays are going so far... - December 27, 2007

Happy Holidays, bitches!

Miss me? I didn't think so.

Last Friday night I rode to my parents house with my cousin and her boyfriend (who also just happens to be from my lovely hometown in upstate, NY, although cousin isn't...small world). I spent 8 hours in the backseat of a tiny, two door car with my suitcase and 4 shopping bags full of presents. Now, as fun as that may sound to y'all, I have back issues. As a result of that ride, I've spent the past 5 days alternating between lying on my back with a heating pad and being in total agony and walking around like the hunchback of Notre Dame. It's hot.

Sunday night Mom, Dad and I did our traditional night before Christmas Eve present opening. It was a little strange not having Bunny here (and Mom cried), but we talked to her on the phone (which set off another crying spree). Dad got the "gift of the season," a GPS system. Mom got an automatic car starter, which comes in quite handy up here in the frozen tundra. They both got golf lessons from me. And moi? It was a golf themed Christmas for Trixie. I made quite the haul in golf clothing and accessories, including some fabulous Ralph Lauren polos (I knew I was getting those because on Saturday Mom and I were watching golf and they showed Morgan Pressel. Mom says, "Look honey, she has your shirt on...DAMNIT! Mom was never good at keeping surprises).

We went to Syracuse for Christmas. Nothing really big happened there (although, I did get an earful of what would happen if my Uncle JK was ever elected to public office...he has some interesting ideas, that one). On the drive back home yesterday, we stopped at not one, but two finger lakes wineries, did some tastings, and purchased 3 cases of wine. Mom accidentally asked for 4 bottles of $30 Champagne in the last case and has had buyers remorse ever sense. Hey...it's the holidays.

That's it for now, bitches. I'm off to try on my new golf duds.

heat for your back is horrible. it tricks your nerves into feeling better but it makes the inflammation worse. use biofreeze and an ice pack.
