PR in Pics...Part I - April 14, 2008

(Printer Friendly Version)

I'm all about the Part I's lately.

Per your numerous requests, some pictures of my trip to Puerto Rico.

The view from our room.

PRbar.jpg

Our makeshift bar (the dresser).

beercoolerPR.jpg

Our makeshift beer cooler...we brushed our teeth and washed our hands in the bathtub until we were able to get a cooler in the room. Priorities.

iguanafriend.jpg

Our friend, the Iguana. I named him Artie. He was cute. And he liked to eat cherries from the bar.

OSJ.jpg

A street in Old San Juan. It was so charming. And hot. Very hot.

That's all for now. I'll post more later. As soon as a certain someone uploads her pictures...hint, hint.

How lovely! But the next time you construct a "makeshift bar" in your hotel room you are ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED to pull the TV out of the cabinet, fill the drawers with ice, and go from there. Filling the sink with ice is for amateurs!

Science tip of the day:

If you ever find yourself checking into a hotel room with only warm beer, there is a solution. Make the makeshift cooler like the Trixie did, but with water and ice. Toss in a small handfull of salt. Stir. The salt will lower the freezing point of the water, making it significantly colder than 32 degrees. Toss in your beer, wait a minute or two for Newton's law to do its work, remove beer, drink. Ice cold beer in under 4 minutes.

Sometimes it is a good thing to finish in 4 minutes.
